People speed down Shoreline and speed through the turn from Otis onto Shoreline. On this particular stretch, people are always moving out/moving in. Whenever the Pods (giant storage cubes) are permitted to park near parking entrances, it's impossible to see around them. We need a way to slow down drivers and increase visibility when people are pulling into/out of parking garages (in apartments and the bowling alley).

Thank you for reporting your concerns about street safety in Alameda. Upon receiving these reports, the City asked ACI to move the debris box to increase visibility at this driveway. ACI has removed it. The City is also considering this location for red curbs to increase roadway visibility.

Your report will help inform the City of Alameda’s work to achieve our Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries. We will use street safety reports, including yours, in combination with crash data and equity indicators to prioritize and design street safety investments. This evaluation will generally happen on an annual basis, with some exceptions for clear and pressing trends.
