Since moving in over six years ago I have became increasingly alarmed by the speeding cars on Shoreline Dr. It's dangerous trying to get out of the garage. The difficulty is increased by the poor visibility due to cars parked right up to the edges of the driveway.

Thank you for reporting your concerns about street safety in Alameda. Upon receiving these reports, the City asked ACI to move the debris box to increase visibility at this driveway. ACI has removed it. The City is also considering this location for red curbs to increase roadway visibility.

Your report will help inform the City of Alameda’s work to achieve our Vision Zero goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries. We will use street safety reports, including yours, in combination with crash data and equity indicators to prioritize and design street safety investments. This evaluation will generally happen on an annual basis, with some exceptions for clear and pressing trends. Issues that the City deems to be immediate safety concerns will be elevated for quick action.
