  This is a plant material called Mexican sage we will trim back into parking curb.

  Given that the Mexican sage will continue to create this situation, perhaps the responsible department should consider a planned replacement program with a less-wide/more vertical plant, as the current planting experiences losses. Drought tolerant native grasses such as California fescue would be appropriate. If there is a bay friendly requirement for pollinator species, the department could include penstemons to provide color and pollinator friendly flowers.

  Two years later and this is still a problem. The half of one bike lane is unusable making it less safe when bicyclist have to pass.
