30 Webster Ave Summit, New Jersey - Summit

I moved into 30 Webster Ave on June 30th. Two weeks ago, our neighbor at 32 Webster Ave left a note for my house and two others notifying us she saw a rat on her property. She had Viking come out and confirm they saw possible burrowing around her fence line (connects to ours and two other homes behind us on Lowell) and hired Viking to set up bait around her home. We had Viking out last weekend and Saturday for same as they confirmed possible burrowing on our lot as well, connecting into the two other lots. Per Gloria (our neighbor at 32 Webster Ave), the area is having a "rat problem" as she notified the health department. I will also contact the health department later today to confirm what Viking has told us. I ask that this matter be researched and our neighbors on Lowell and Webster also be asked to obtain services from a pest control center to look into the matter and treat as well.

Please contact my cell with any questions 908.723.8111.

    Sincerely,
    Mary Guza

hi - not sure if the town is responsible for maintenance of the train station bathroom - but the hand dryer has not worked for months and there are never paper towels. - so the situation is quite unsanitary.

I am concerned that precautions will not be taken when walls are demolished in the apartment next door. I bought a lead testing kit that showed there is lead in the paint. About two months ago the same kind of town house two door down had similar demolition work and the family living there with children had dust all over their basement and kitchen area. The apartment that was upgraded is the same age as mine and the one at 15b/12a. I am concerned about the lead and the dusty that will come and that the contractor will not seal the downstairs and upstairs where they will be removing walls.

The number of foxes in Summit has increased significantly. Foxes don't attack people. However, they are wild and dangerous animals. Individual efforts to deter them from residential areas may not be as effective as collective action by the City.
