Description
Daily around 10a and 4p, large dogs are let off leash to "play" at both North and South fields. The so-called "friendly" dogs are a threat to the children from nearby Brayton, the adjacent playground, as well as to elderly and those walking leashed smaller dogs. Leash-law signs are being ignored. Someone is going to get bitten or knocked down,

Dear Mr. Blasko,
Thank you for contacting the City of Summit with your concern regarding dogs running at large at Memorial Field. On May 5, 2016, the Health Department conducted an inspection and found two women who allowed their dogs off their leash temporarily to fetch a ball. Both women had proper means to clean up after their dogs. A copy of the City of Summit Ordinance regarding Dogs Running At Large was given to each owner. I will follow up with periodic visits to the field to ensure compliance.
